Angel Centre’s QUEST result acknowledges tmactive’s commitment to health & wellbeing

007 AngelCentreQuestJan2019 LR DH43764The Angel Centre’s management team is pleased with the outcome of their recent QUEST assessment, where good management practices were examined and rewarded. The quality assessment, which included a mystery visit and 2 days of on-site evaluation, resulted in a ‘Very Good’ rating for the Centre.

QUEST is the UK’s quality scheme for the sport and leisure industry and is operated by the four national Sports Councils, including Sport England. It is the best recognised quality award within the industry, open to leisure centres operated by local authorities, leisure trusts and private leisure management contractors.

In the assessment, the Centre was rated ‘excellent’ in areas including community outcomes, fitness suites and health and safety compliance. It was also rated ‘excellent’ in contribution to health and wellbeing, with an assessor acknowledging that improving wellbeing for those living in the local community is a priority for the Centre and tmactive. The Centre’s engagement with Sport England’s Active Lives programme was stated to be ‘the best in Kent’.

Cllr Maria Heslop, Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Community Services said: “Many congratulations to all the staff at the Angel Centre, who continue to show the highest level of commitment to meeting Quest’s very high standards to provide quality facilities and services for customers.”

The QUEST rating lasts for two years and between each assessment the leisure centres receive a mystery visit by an inspector and a directional review to ensure standards continue to be achieved. Other tmactive sites Tonbridge Swimming Pool and Larkfield Leisure Centre currently hold the prestigious ‘Outstanding’ rating.
