Poult Wood offers a range of competitions and events for experienced golfers and those new to the game. Choose from our Grand Challenge, Coffee Mornings, Junior events and more.

If you would like to obtain a CONGU handicap, play in friendly matches against other clubs, play in regular competitions or just come along and play then you may like to join the Poult Wood Golf Club (PWGC). Membership to the Club is included with all adult course memberships. Find out more.


Poult Wood Grand Challenge 2018

The Final

IMG 0480The Poult Wood Grand Challenge final took place on October 27 and 28. The run away winner was 20 handicapper Adrian Mos who had an emphatic ten stroke victory over Geoff Baker, off a handicap of nine and Michael Paris finishing third.

Said Adrian, “The Poult Wood Grand Challenge is a great competition and gives us something to play for all summer long. I am delighted to win on my fourth attempt and look forward to defending my title next year."

Anyone can take part in the Poult Wood Challenge 2019 and play as often as they wish. Your best 12 combined rounds of Stableford scores for the season will count towards your final position. Your performance throughout the year determines how many Stableford points advantage you will receive going into the finals weekend - minimum of three rounds to qualify for finals week.

A handicap is required to play, but if you don't have one we'll use your first three rounds to attain one. So come and join us - professional advice, friendly and fun atmosphere. Green fees payable each day - no need to book just turn up on the day. Challenge games take place each Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, starting on 1 April. Southern Disability Open 2018

Poult Wood SDO 2018 001 Web Res copyFollowing the launch of the very successful Southern Disability Open (SDO) in 2017, tmactive in conjunction with Kent Golf and the Disabled Golf Association (DGA), hosted the second Southern Disability Open on Saturday 9 June. The Competition was open to both men and women played to the modified rules of golf published by the R&A. 

“We were very pleased to be hosting the Southern Disability Open for a second time and look forward to welcoming golfers to the course again in 2019,” said Martin Guyton, Chief Executive of tmactive.

Jamie Blair, England Golf Disability Manager said, “England Golf, working with our County and Club partners, want to provide events for disabled players within our game. I am delighted to see Kent Golf with Poult Wood and the DGA host the Southern Disability Open for a second time, creating a golf event for disabled players within the county of Kent and in the South East. The SDO provides a great opportunity for disabled players to compete and provides an opportunity for new players getting into golf, through the work of clubs across the county, to put their skills in practice."


Play Golf in 5 Lessons

Learn to play golf in five lessons, with one of our PGA golf Professionals. These groups are great fun and ideal for complete beginners. In five lessons, we will teach you all you need to know to play golf on our fantastic short course.

For the fifth lesson, we take you onto the course to play nine-holes. We provide all the equipment and balls for the range. First lesson is free and its only £50 for the other four lessons. Great fun, meet new people and it helps you to stay fit. Lessons take place on Tuesday & Thursday at 6:30pm / Thursday & Saturday at 10am.


Coffee Mornings - Tuesday & Friday @ 10am

Come and join our Coffee Mornings and meet fellow golfers in a relaxed environment. Great for fitness, making friends and building skills. The mornings consist of a bucket of balls on the driving range with tuition from one of our PGA professionals, followed by a coffee in the Clubhouse. Sessions cost just £8.50 all welcome. There's no need to book just register at the Pro Shop on the day.

Why not play our 9 Hole Course after the lesson and then enjoy a coffee– additional green fees payable.


Great Opportunities for Junior Golfers

Poult Wood's calendar offers a whole range of events and activities for junior golfers. There's our regular Saturday 9 Hole Competition, Sunday Roll Up and Holiday Camps. Take a look at the options.  


Dementia-Friendly Golf Mornings - Second Tuesday of the month

Our Dementia-friendly Golf Mornings take place on the second Tuesday of each month from 11am onwards. The session includes a round on the 9 Hole Course, tuition on the driving range and coffee/tea in the Bar after the game. The mornings cost just £6 per person and carers go free.
