Charity of the Year
Supporting Porchlight
We are delighted to partner with Porchlight, the Kent-based homelessness, housing and mental health charity. By appointing Porchlight as our Charity of the Year, tmactive affirms its commitment to supporting and raising awareness of the essential services provided by the charity in Tonbridge and Malling.
Porchlight helps people who are facing homelessness. It also tackles the causes and consequences of poverty and inequality, so they can recover from the trauma they’ve experienced and live the life they want.
December Festive Fundraisers
In December, tmactive staff and customers came together to raise funds for Porchlight. Our festive events included a customer breakfast at Tonbridge Pool, Deck the Hall family day at Larkfield Leisure Centre, a Christmas Quiz at the Angel Centre, plus a Prima festive dress-up and prize draw. Each raised valuable funds for which we are incredibly grateful.
A special thank you goes to tmactive staff and Prima students who generously donated and helped assemble boxes filled with essential items for Porchlight clients. Your kindness and support have made a real difference.
October Outdoor Lane Hire
As the season drew to a close at Tonbridge Swimming Pool, swimmers were treated to a special opportunity: the chance to hire a private lane in the Outdoor Pool for a 45-minute swim. The event, which took place on 1 and 2 October, allowed participants to enjoy a serene, uninterrupted swim under the open sky – an experience usually reserved for early morning risers or lucky off-peak visitors.
Beyond the personal benefits, the event also served a greater purpose. By the end of the two-day initiative, an impressive £800 had been raised, all of which was donated to charity, making this an unforgettable way to bid farewell to the outdoor swimming season.
Charity Assault Course - August
In August, Angel Centre staff and members united for a rigorous Fitness Challenge to raise funds for tmactive’s charity of the year, Porchlight. The challenge, inspired by a popular fitness routine, involved a series of intense exercises including running, Ski-Erg, sled pushes, tyre flips, rowing, all completed in pairs.
The event was a powerful demonstration of community spirit and commitment to supporting those in need and raised an amazing £782 for the charity.
The next fundraising Challenge will take place on Sunday 22 December. Sign up in the Gym or at reception!
Members' Charity Golf Day - May
We held our annual Members’ Charity Golf Day in aid of Porchlight on Sunday 19 May. The event was a resounding success, raising £2,600 for the charity.
The competition was held at tmactive’s Poult Wood Golf Course and some 57 players, competed in both individual and team stableford competitions.
The funds raised on the day was through a combination of tee sponsorship, a raffle, auction and on course competitions. 15 companies donated raffle prizes, auction lots and sponsored tees.
CEO Sleep Out - March
Both tmactive’s Chief Executive, Emma Wood and previous Chief Executive, Martin Guyton, took part in the CEO Sleepout on Monday 25 March and raised £1,090 for Porchlight.

Members’ Charity Golf Day
The Poult Wood team runs a very popular annual Members’ Charity Golf Day supporting the tmactive Charity of the Year.
Taking place on Sunday 18 May 2025, all Course Members are invited to take part. All money raised on the day, through the purchase of Gimme & Mulligan’s, on-course competitions, an auction and raffle, is donated to tmactive’s Charity of the Year, Porchlight.
The Stableford competition is a shotgun start, with a team and individual event.
The aim of the day is to enjoy a great competition with like minded people whilst raising much needed funds for the tmactive Charity of the Year. Previously supported charities include Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex, Heart of Kent Hospice and Spadework.
If you are a Poult Wood Course Member, expect your invitation in the New Year!
