When I am not swimming I enjoy playing golf and spending time with my friends and family.

Charlotte Willcox - Climbing
I’m 14 years old and I started climbing when I was 8. I do bouldering (without ropes) and lead climbing (with ropes). I train bouldering twice and lead once per week with my coaches. I climb a lot at Volume 1 in East Grinstead and The Reach in Woolwich.
On weekends, if there isn’t a competition, I will visit different climbing walls. I really enjoy competing and have taken part in lots of local and national competitions. My best result was finishing 3rd at the Youth Climbing Series national finals in 2023.
In the Summer, I competed in the U17 selection event for the Youth lead climbing World Championships, and finished 8th. I’ve also been attending England training sessions for bouldering and a weeks training camp with the England climbing squad. I am continuing to train hard in preparation for GB selection in 2026.
This year, I have been selected for the England National boulder squad and the U17 GB lead climbing team. In the future, I hope to be able to compete internationally.

Finley Bowles - Olympic Trap Shooting
I am an Olympic Trap shooter, representing GB U21 Junior level, and am very proud to do so.
My ambitions are to represent my country at the European and World Championships, later in the year.
I’ve been very fortunate to enjoy a number of successes over the past year. Domestically, I was proud to win the final of the British Shotgun Series, and on the international stage, I secured victories at both the Portuguese and Irish Grand Prix, as well as a strong second-place finish in Spain.
Alongside these results, I also competed at the English Open Olympic Trap at Nuthampstead Shooting Ground, where I came away with 1st place after scoring 116 – well above the British Shooting qualifying mark of 110. In the Summer, I took part in the European Olympric Trap event in France and secured a silver medal.
I’m extremely proud of the progress I’ve made and grateful for the opportunities ahead. I’m now focused on building on this momentum and continuing to represent my country at the highest level.

Fionn Dwyer - Taekwondo
My Taekwondo journey began at the age of five at Synergy Taekwondo and Martial Arts in Tonbridge. By seven, I was competing in my first inter-club tournament, sparking a passion that has taken me to national and international competitions across sparring, patterns, and special technique.
In October 2022, I proudly represented ATEA at the ITF Taekwondo World Cup in Koper, Slovenia, earning silver and bronze medals in team events. After returning, I continued training under Master Tim Dunn and earned my black belt shortly after my 15th birthday.
Over the past three years, I’ve also been coaching alongside Master Dunn at Synergy, progressing from volunteer to instructor, working with students of all ages and abilities.
As a competitor, I’ve medalled at numerous events, including gold at the 2024 National Championships and silver in 2025. Most recently, I was selected for the ITF England National Team and represented my country at the Junior European Championships in Bosnia in April 2025. I am training for the Open English competition, as well as team trials this Winter.
My ambition is to keep coaching, representing my country and competing at the highest level.

Iona Winnifrith - Swimming
At 13, I became the youngest member of ParalympicsGB at the Paris Games, where I won a Silver medal. This was a significant milestone in my journey as a para-swimmer.
2024 was an extraordinary year, beginning with my success as a double European Champion. At my first international championships with the British team, I claimed European titles in the SB7 100m Breaststroke and SM7 200m Individual Medley, along with a bronze in the S7 50m Butterfly in Madeira. This momentum continued at the Paris Paralympics, where I set a new European record finishing 4th in the SM7 200m Individual Medley, and secured another silver in the SB7 100m Breaststroke, also setting a new British record.
Before making my international debut, I won a multi-classification 100m Breaststroke British title at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships in London. In September, I took part in the Para World Swimming Championships in Signapore, winning a bronze and silver medal. I also won the Young Hero award at BBC Radio Kent’s ‘Make a difference’ awards.
In June, I competed at the Scottish National Open Swimming Championships with the GB Para team, winning 3 Gold medals (100m Breaststroke, 50m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle), setting 2 British records (100m Breaststroke SB7, 200m IM SM7), and a European record in the 200m.
I started swimming at the age of five, watching my brothers train at Tonbridge Swimming Club, where I was invited to join the learn-to-swim section as the youngest member. Outside the pool, I love spending time with my two dogs, going on walks and performing in theatre productions.

Jack Brown - Swimming
I’ve been part of Larkfield Swimming Club for ten years. While I’ve always loved swimming, it’s only in the last couple of years that I’ve started competing at the highest level.
In October, I took part in the Medway Championships Gala 5, and won both the 200m freestyle and 100m Individual Medley. Last August, I competed in my first National Championships, reaching the final and finishing 8th in my favourite event – the 200m Backstroke.
This year, I’m focused on helping my team gain promotion from our National Arena League Division. We reached the Playoffs last year and came close to winning, and I believe we have what it takes to go one step further this time.
Looking ahead, my long-term goal is to qualify for the Olympic Trials in 2027.

James Kingston - Athletics/Cross Country
Representing Great Britain at the European Under 23 Cross Country Championships and the World Cross Country Championships has been a huge honour and highlight of my running career so far. Competing against the best in the world and placing 68th in the senior men’s race was a proud moment and a valuable learning experience.
Domestically, I’ve been fortunate to find success at the National Cross Country Championships—one of the most prestigious events on the UK athletics calendar. I was proud to take the title and have also finished 2nd and 3rd in other years, demonstrating both consistency and a drive to compete at the top level year after year.
Cross country has always been at the heart of my running. I’m passionate about the sport, committed to continuous improvement, and motivated by the challenges each new season brings. Whether representing my country or competing on home soil, I’m always aiming to give my best and push the limits of what I can achieve.

Kara Redford - Swimming
I am 15 years old and I have been a competitive swimmer at Larkfield Swimming Club for the last 7 years. My passion started at 10 years old, when I won 3 gold medals, 1 silver and 2 bronzes, at the Kent County Championships, setting a Kent record for 100m butterfly that still stands today.
Since the covid-19 pandemic and suffering two shoulder dislocations in 2022, I have won multiple medals for backstroke at South East Regionals and competed in numerous finals at both British and English Summer Championships across the past 3 years. I have also been part of two Swim England Talent programmes, receiving training and guidance to help my swimming to progress.
In August, I took part in the Swim England National Summer Championships for both the 50m and 100m backstroke. I finished 7th and 8th in the finals. In September, I took part in the Medway Gala and won first place in the female 100m Individual Medley.
It is my dream to one day compete internationally and represent England in a European competition. I hope to inspire younger swimmers, especially those from small clubs like mine and encourage them to achieve their goals.

Leo Trandaburu - Gymnastics
I’m a gymnast at Pegasus Gymnastics Club. I train 6 days a week, I enjoy training and competing. My favourite part of training is learning new skills, getting strong, being with my teammates and preparing for competition.
I have successfully represented my club at Regional and National Level, I have been the regional champion for the last 4 years and recently competed at the English Championships, British Championships and gained a spot within the England Squad. I would love to represent team England in an International competition one day!

At the moment, my favourite apparatus is the Pommel Horse because I’m learning so many new skills on it, though my favourite tends to change from time to time.
I enjoy school and like to think I balance my time well between training, academics and spending quality time with family and friends.

Lucy Tallon - Athletics
I’m a 19-year-old sprinter currently training full-time to pursue my dream of competing at the highest level in athletics. I work with sprint coach Nigel Stickings – the sessions are intense, but I’m fully committed to seeing how far I can go in the sport.
In the Summer, I took part in the U20 European Championships in Finland, and took home a silver medal in both the 200m and 4x100m relay. My long-term goals include the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles and 2032 in Brisbane. A major highlight of last year was lining up for the 200m at the British Championships/Olympic Trials in Manchester – sharing the start line with Dina Asher-Smith and Katarina Johnson-Thompson was an unforgettable experience.
I’m beyond excited to have earned my second GB vest! In June, I had the privilege of competing with the GB team at the Mannheim U20 Gala in Germany, where I took 1st place in the 200m, set a massive PB, and secured a European U20 qualifying time. I also helped the 4x100m relay squad win 1st place. At the Blackheath & Bromley AC Open, I clocked a huge PB of 11.55s in the 100m, qualifying for the UK European U20 Championship standard, and followed that up with another PB of 23.76s in the 200m.
To support my athletic career, I work part-time as a lifeguard at Larkfield Leisure Centre and often train in their gym as part of my sprint programme.

Olaf Kwiecien - Badminton
I first picked up a badminton racket at eight years old. It was a new challenge, but with strong hand-eye coordination, I quickly found my rhythm and fell in love with the sport.
I now train five days a week, supported by gym and swim sessions. It’s demanding—physically and mentally—but I’ve learned to stay focused under pressure and keep pushing to improve. The journey has shaped my resilience and determination.
With HBC and brilliant coaching, I’ve achieved some incredible milestones. In 2024, my doubles partner Advait and I won silver at the English Championships. Representing England, we claimed gold at the Youth Championships in Sweden and the Planet Youth tournament in the Netherlands. In October, I won a gold medal in the Badminton England silver circuit U17!
One highlight was being selected for the Yonex All England Legacy matches, competing against Japan in 2023 and Chinese Taipei in 2025.
Badminton has given me joy, purpose, and lasting friendships. I’m excited for what’s ahead.

Rhys Harmer - Hockey
I’ve been playing hockey since I was five, progressing through the ranks to make my debut for Canterbury Men’s 1st Team (Division 1 South) at 15, scoring in my first match. I’ve now played four full seasons with the 1st team and made my Premier League indoor debut this year, scoring my first goal and earning a place in the starting line-up. I was proud to be named Young Player of the Year before moving to Exeter on a hockey scholarship with reduced academic grades.
For sixth form, I moved to Whitgift School on a full hockey scholarship and played for the First XI. I finished last season as top goal scorer and helped the team secure an historic three national titles – the first school to ever do so. This season, we became the first team to complete a “double treble,” winning all three titles again. I was top scorer in both the national finals (5 goals in 2 games) and the independent schools finals (4 goals in 2 games), finishing the season with 44 goals – the highest total in the country.

Romeo Ball - Swimming

In June, I competed in the South East Region Open Water Championships, where I placed 1st in my age group and 1st overall in the 2km event. It was an exciting and rewarding race, and I’m thrilled with my performance in such a competitive field.
At the 2025 English National Championships, I won 3 gold medals and 1 bronze. During the meet, I set 3 new South East Regional records and broke 6 Kent records.
I was also been selected to represent Kent at the National County Team Championships in October, and qualified for the National Winter Championships in December.

Sasha Jones - Artistic Gymnastics
I’m a dedicated and passionate 12 year old gymnast from Weald Gymnastics Club, and I’ve already been lucky enough to achieve some exciting milestones in my sport. Before I found my love for gymnastics, I explored dance, which gave me a strong foundation to build on. I’ve been training in gymnastics since I was 5 years old, and in 2022, I was proud to become the Kent Champion.
In 2024, I was part of the South East team at the National Gymnastics Competition, where we won the bronze medal—an amazing experience that I’ll never forget. I train around 20 hours each week, and I also take part in monthly training sessions with both the SE and Kent squads, always pushing myself to improve and reach new goals.
In September, I took part in the South East Regional Championships, and won bronze. In November I represented our region in the British National Championships for Artistic Gymnastics, and am now officially the Kent Champion.
Outside the gym, I’m a pupil at Tonbridge Grammar School. I speak both Russian and English fluently, and when I’m not training or studying, I love spending time with my family – especially my brother. I’ve always had a big love for animals, and people say I’m kind and caring, something I try to bring into everything I do.

Thomas Clifford - Brazilian Ju Jitsu
I am a 17-year-old Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athlete. I started training jiu jitsu at Carlson Gracie Kent in 2018 when I was 10 and competed in my first competition a year later. I am now a blue belt and compete regularly in the UK and internationally.
My first major success was in 2023 when I won silver at the European Championships. Since then, I have won gold medals in adult blue and purple belt divisions and most recently I won gold at the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu London Open.
I have enjoyed success at the English Open Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships with two gold medals: I won the blue belt under 79Kg division and then went on to win the blue belt open weight division. This was my first year in the adult division.
In June, I competed at the IBJJF London Spring Open at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre and won GOLD! This victory is especially meaningful as I stepped up a weight division since my last IBJJF event, making it a significant achievement for me.
In October I competed in the European Championships in Rome, making the final 8 in a division of 116 competitors. My long-term big goal is to win the ADCC World Championships- considered to be the Olympics of the sport- and to become one of the best in the world.
