Activities for all the Family
Activities for All
Leybourne Lakes Country Park is a popular venue with families, cyclists, walkers and water sports enthusiasts alike. There’s an exciting calendar of events running throughout the year including holiday activities, wildlife activity days, as well as a popular school programme.
Close to the Children’s Play Area is our Refuel Cafe offering a selection of hot and cold food, plus doggy treats for your canine friends. The Cafe has unisex toilets with baby changing facilities and a dedicated disabled toilet. We’ve also just introduced a new Dog Wash.
Walking & Cycling
A variety of paths are available to enjoy with a number of Public Rights of Way to and through the park. The best accessible paths for visitors with wheelchairs and/or pushchairs are around Ocean Lake which are hard surfaced and reasonably flat. There are no width restricting features, such as stiles or non RADAR kissing gates.
We also have a range of suggested walks/Trails you can enjoy:
- Permanent Orienteering Course leaflet
- Ocean Circular Walk
- Interactive Nature Trail with Rubbing Plaques
- Amazing Alders Tree Trail
- Junior Wildlife Watch
Cyclists should take care to avoid pedestrians and there are cycle racks in the car park (near the toilets). Dogs are allowed in accordance with the rules around public spaces; dog waste bins are provided.
Ranger-led Activities
Our park rangers offer fun activities for children at the park including:
- Pond dipping
- Nature discovery trails
- Wildlife orienteering
These activities are popular with schools, nurseries, cubs, scouts, brownies and rainbows. We can tailor activities to meet your requirements.
