Golfing Opportunities
At Poult Wood you can take part in a number of competitions and events to help you improve and enjoy the game.
We have a resident Golf Club that is affiliated to England Golf which you can join for a modest additional fee. They run a wide range of competitions and both friendly and league matches and will make you very welcome from day one. Find out More
We are partnered with Growing Golf who offer junior opportunities and adult ‘roll up’ sessions. We have a resident Golf Club if you would like to partner up with other players or take part in regular friendly matches against other clubs. Course Members are also invited to join our annual Members’ Charity Golf Day in June.
Members' Charity Golf Day
The Poult Wood team runs a very popular annual Members’ Charity Golf Day supporting the tmactive Charity of the Year.
The last competition took place on Saturday 10 May 2025, and all Course Members were invited to take part. All money raised on the day, through the purchase of Gimme & Mulligan’s, on-course competitions, an auction and raffle, was donated to tmactive’s Charity of the Year, Porchlight.
The Stableford competition is a shotgun start, with a team and individual event.
The aim of the day is to enjoy a great competition with like minded people whilst raising much needed funds for the tmactive Charity of the Year. Previously supported charities include Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex, Heart of Kent Hospice and Spadework.
In 2026, the competition will take place on Saturday 13 June. All money raised will be donated to tmactive’s new Charity of the Year, Communigrow.
Poult Wood Grand Challenge
Anyone can take part in the Poult Wood Grand Challenge and play as often as they wish. The competition runs from week commencing 1 April and the final weekend for 2026 will be towards the end of September.
Your best 12 combined rounds of Stableford scores for the season will count towards your final position. Your performance throughout the year determines how many Stableford points advantage you will receive going into the finals weekend – minimum of five rounds to qualify for finals week.
A handicap is required to play, but if you don’t have one then we can use your first three rounds to attain a handicap. So come and join us – it’s a friendly and fun atmosphere. You can either book a tee time or just turn up on one of the days that have pre-booked times. These are each Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday and tee off at 8.28am and 8.36am. The finals weekend takes place in September each year.

Poult Wood Golf Club
If you would like to obtain a WHS handicap, play in friendly and league matches against other clubs, take part in regular competitions or just come along and play then you may like to join the Poult Wood Golf Club. PWGC is England Golf affiliated and charges a modest membership fee.

Roll Ups & Junior Coaching
Growing Golf offer a variety of Roll Ups, great for those looking to improve their game in a social environment with expert advice. Our PGA Professional hosts these sessions on a Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 10am – 11am:

They also welcome children of all ages and abilities and have established a range of year-round coaching and playing opportunities. These include weekly group coaching sessions, holiday golf camps and on-course sessions to help aid the transition from practice range to golf course. The team use a structure that ensures improvement, progression and a lot of fun along the way!
