Customer Statement – Direct Debit & Annual Members 

As I am sure you are aware we have once again been forced to close our leisure facilities with the exception of golf only at Poult Wood Golf Course (the clubhouse and squash courts are closed) as a consequence of Tier 4 Coronavirus restrictions. This took almost immediate effect from Sunday 20 December with the first possible review being 30 December. The facilities were due to be closed on 31 December and 1 January 2021 and therefore we will be closed until at least 2 January. Whilst I am in no real position to speculate I suspect that the likelihood is we will be closed for a longer period.

In the short term, if you pay by monthly direct debit your payment will once again be reduced to a £5 administrative fee only. The only exceptions to this are Prima customers who have opted to continue classes via Zoom and Poult Wood customers. You do not need to take any action for this to occur although as ever should you wish to support us by continuing to pay your normal payment we would be very grateful.

Please note that if your direct debit payment was due today (21 December) it will have been taken in full. The direct debit process had already been activated for this date and we are unable to reverse that process given the very late notification of closure by the Government. This payment will of course provide a credit in your account that will be calculated against your next payment upon re-opening, whenever that may be.

No customer will lose as a consequence of payment made for services not yet delivered and there remains an option to cancel future payments/membership without charge.
Annual members will see a further proportionate extension to their membership when we know the length of the current closure.

Please be aware that this email address will not be monitored from 24-28 December inclusive so please be patient over the festive period as our own staff who have been working tirelessly to respond to customer enquiries will be taking a well-earned break during these dates.

I appreciate it has been an extraordinarily difficult year for everyone and the closures, re-openings and restricted programming and services have been very frustrating. I can assure you that we will continue to provide COVID secure facilities and services whenever we can to help support the health and wellbeing of all our customers. We are truly grateful for your forbearance and ongoing support and especially appreciate the many kind messages you have sent in.
