Welcome to our 2024 Calendar of Events.  We think you'll agree there are lots of great sessions to enjoy on your own, or with family and friends.

Unless otherwise stated, the Meeting Point for each event is the Rangers’ Office in the Main Car Park.

Don't forget that during the school holidays come and enjoy one of our self-guided activities including the Interactive Nature Trail with Rubbing Plaques, Junior Wildlife Walk, Ocean Circular Walk and Orienteering Courses. FREE – just pick up a leaflet from outside the Rangers’ Office.

 

APRIL

Easter Trail
Thursday 11 April – 10.30am to 1.30pm
5 timeslots available
Take part in our fun family Easter trail discovering new parts of the park by following the themed clues; find all the clues and solve the puzzle. There is a small sweet treat for all those that succeed.
Cost: £5 per child – booking is essential. Meet opposite Children’s Playground.

Guided Nightingale Walk
Thursday 25 & Monday 29 April – 6pm to 8pm
Join the Rangers on a guided walk looking for the elusive Nightingales. You will learn about their habitat requirements and how
to recognise their famous song. Bring your binoculars or camera for a closer look.
Cost: £5 per person - booking is essential.

 

MAY

Pond Dipping
Thursday 30 & Friday 31 May
10am to 11am & 1pm to 2pm
Join the Rangers to discover what lives under the water using dipping nets, magnifying glasses and identification charts. See if you can find any Dragonfly Nymphs or Water Scorpions.
Cost: £4 per child - booking is essential.

 

JULY

Come and take part in our annual Wildlife Activity Day and enjoy pond dipping sessions, nature walks, arts & crafts, bird feeder making, woodland crafts and face painting.
FREE - No booking required. Meet opposite Children’s Playground.

 

AUGUST

Guided Bat Walk
Saturday 3 August – 8.25pm to 10pm
Saturday 24 August – 8pm to 9.30pm
Join our Bat expert Simon for a short walk around the Park after dark, watching out for bats and learning which species are present using the latest technology.
Cost: £9 per person - booking essential.

 

OCTOBER

RSPB Feed the Birds Day
Tuesday 29 October 
10am to 11am & 12 noon to 1pm
Wild birds are incredibly important to people’s lives and the ecosystem. Come join in the fun and make your own fat ball feeders which attract Blue Tits, Great Tits, Long-tailed Tits, House Sparrows, Blackbirds, Robins and more!
Cost: £4 per child - booking is essential.

halloween lakesHalloween Trail
Thursday 31 October - 6pm to 8pm
4 sessions available
Put on your Halloween costume and join in our fabulous Halloween Pumpkin Trail around the spooky lakes after dark! Follow the arrows and find the clues as you go – succeed and you’ll get a trick or treat prize. Please bring a torch.

DECEMBER

RBLI Rudolph Christmas Fun Run
Sunday 15 December - 10am onwards
Join us for a festive fun-filled event for participants of all ages and fitness levels to embrace their inner Rudolph and don their finest festive attire. Whether you walk, jog or run, this event promises to be an enjoyable experience for all the family. Prizes for the best dressed with festive fun provided for all.
